DALLAS, Texas - East Tennessee State University men's golf team sits in third place after a seven-under-par 281 in the first round of the Trinity Forest Invitational on Sunday at Trinity Forest Golf Club. 

East Tennessee State's seven-under finish leaves them in third place, three strokes behind second-place Southern California and four strokes ahead of fourth-place Rice. 

Three Buccaneers shot a three-under-par 69 to sit in a tie for sixth place. Veigar Heidarsson had six birdies on the day for his three-under 69. Richard Saunders had five birdies on the day for his three-under total, while Oli Blackadder had four. 

Gavin Tiernan had a two-over-par 74 to sit in a tie for 54th place. Erik Tjarnberg shot a four-over-par 76 in the first round to sit in a tie for 76th place. 

The Trinity Forest Invitational continues tomorrow with the Bucs' tee times beginning at 12:40 p.m. (ET). The Bucs are paired with UNLV and Southern California.
