JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sep. 10, 2025) – The ETSU women's soccer team hunts a fourth straight victory when they play host to the Radford Highlanders on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 6:00pm at Summers-Taylor Stadium. Thursday night is Bucky Night, with ETSU's mascot in attendance to meet fans and take photos.

The Bucs have rattled off three straight wins for the first time since 2023. Reagan Fitzgerald scored at the hour mark on Sunday to give ETSU a 1-0 victory over UNC Asheville. Fitzgerald is tied for the SoCon lead with five goals this season, matching her Freshman of the Year campaign in 2023. Her 12 goals are the most on the active roster.

Defensively, ETSU has been solid, allowing just nine shots over the winning streak and not conceding a goal in over 336 minutes, dating back to August 28 against Tennessee Tech.

The Highlanders were picked third in the Big South preseason poll led by veteran midfielder Lilly Short. The Big South's Preseason Midfielder of the Year has two goals and two assists in six games so far this season. Paige Olson leads the team with four goals this season, and the Highlanders boast the Big South's Offensive Player of the Week in freshman Abby Walsh, whose 78th minute goal bagged them a 2-1 win over Morehead State on Sunday.

This is the 20th meeting between ETSU and Radford in women's soccer and the first since 2021. ETSU has a slight edge in the series, 9-8-2. The Highlanders have won the last three meetings, with the Bucs' last win coming August 23, 2016. Simona Koren's tap-in goal off a corner kick was enough for ETSU to win 1-0.
