LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 20, 2025) - The ETSU women's soccer team plays its first of two games in Lexington this week when they matchup with Kentucky on Thursday at 7:30pm.

The Bucs head to Lexington with a win and a draw to their names in the first week and the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week at the top of the formation. Reagan Fitzgerald scored in both ETSU's 1-0 win over North Alabama last Thursday and their 1-1 draw with UAB on Sunday. The junior forward has nine career goals, the most of any active Buccaneer. The Bucs have been active in shuffling personnel, with 20 players seeing 30 or more minutes through the first two games this season. Only goalkeeper Addison Yelton has played all 180 minutes through the first two games.
The Wildcats have scored 11 goals in their first two games, thumping Jackson State 4-0 and West Georgia 7-0. Seven different Wildcats have scored at least one goal so far this season. Sophomore Alexis Tylenda leads the team with three goals including a brace against UWG, while sophomore Anna Sikorski also notched a pair of goals against JSU. Freshman goalkeeper Khadijah Cissé represented Canada at the U-17 level earlier in August at the Four Nations Tournament in Mexico City. The Wildcats are extremely young overall with 20 freshmen and sophomores and just nine upperclassmen.
This is the first ever meeting between ETSU and Kentucky in women's soccer. It is the 18th time the Bucs have played a team currently in the SEC, and they are seeking their first-ever win over an SEC opponent.
ETSU follows up the game Thursday night with a second game in Lexington on Sunday against Eastern Kentucky. That game was moved from EKU's home field in Richmond to the Lexington Sports Club and is set for a 1:00pm kickoff.
