ETSU will honor the program's alumni on its annual alumni day, including the 1994-95 team that was the first women's basketball team at ETSU to win a conference championship.

5th year guard Courtney Moore extended her double-digits scoring streak to 14 straight games in the win over Mercer, as she led ETSU with 24 points. Moore is the lone player in the SoCon to post double figures in every conference contest, and only UNCG's Nya Smith has done it in all but one game. Eight players, including Chattanooga's Caia Elisaldez, have scored double-digits in all but two SoCon matchups.

As a team, ETSU has dramatically improved at the free throw line in the last month, jumping nearly 100 spots in the NCAA free throw percentage rankings, from 230 to 139. Against Mercer, the Blue & Gold shot a season best 95% (19-20) from the charity stripe, and the Buccaneers' three best free-throw shooting games (min. 10 attempts) have come in the last three weeks.

Junior forward Meghan Downing extended her single-season record with three blocks against the Bears and now has 57, which ranks 14th (as of Wednesday) in the NCAA.

Chattanooga is paced by Caia Elisaldez, who averages 13.4 points and 4.4 assists per game. Gianna Corbitt, the reigning SoCon Player of the Week, posts 10.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Both squads play a defensive-heavy brand of basketball, and are only separated by half a point in scoring defense. Chattanooga ranks No. 18 nationally at 55.4 points per game, and the Buccaneers follow in close suit at No. 25 nationally at 55.9 points per game.

The last time the two teams met this season, the Mocs staved off an ETSU comeback attempt, as the Blue & Gold stormed back after trailing by 13 in the third quarter, but Chattanooga walked away with the 48-46 victory. Braylyn Milton led ETSU with 21 points and eight rebounds, and Courtney Moore scored 11 for the Bucs in the defeat.

The Buccaneers trail the all-time series with their in-state rivals 25-72. ETSU has lost all six  contests during the Mock Brown era. The Blue & Gold came within two of the Mocs on the road in 2023-24 along with the previous contest this season, falling 52-50. Kendall Folley scored ten and Brecken Snotherly grabbed six rebounds in the loss.
