Keith Brake returned to ETSU as Director of Broadcasting in September 2022. Brake spent the previous six seasons in Fargo, North Dakota, where he helped launch a sports talk station, Bison 1660, from scratch in 2016. He hosted pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage of North Dakota State Bison football and provided play-by-play for NDSU men's and women's basketball, volleyball, women's soccer, baseball, softball, and wrestling. In addition to his work with the Bison, Brake called games for the USHL's Fargo Force and high school football games in North Dakota and Northern Minnesota and hosted a daily sports talk show, The BrakeDown with Keith Brake.Â
Prior to Fargo, Brake worked for IMG College (now Learfield) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, as a studio host and producer from 2013 to 2016. He was primarily assigned to the University of Connecticut Huskies for football, men's and women's basketball, and men's ice hockey broadcasts, but he worked with more than three dozen Division I FBS institutions including Vanderbilt, Florida, Michigan, Texas, and UCLA. He also provided audio and commercial production for Texas, Arizona, Kansas, Air Force, Ohio, and Miami University during the 2015-16 season.
Brake is a 2013 graduate of ETSU and donned the play-by-play headset for ETSU men's and women's soccer, volleyball, baseball, and softball as a student. He also hosted the Inside Buc Sports TV series for one season and hosted its successor web series, Buc Update Central. He and his wife, Jessi, reside in Bluff City.
