Mock Brown Announces Complete 2026-27 Schedule

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – East Tennessee State University head women's basketball coach Brenda Mock Brown has announced the Buccaneer's 2026-27 nonconference schedule, Wednesday. 

The 2026-27 season officially begins with a home matchup against new Division I member West Florida (Nov. 3). The Buccaneers are 41-15 in all-time home openers, 34-23 in all-time season openers, and 2-2 in home season openers under Brenda Mock Brown

After opening up in Johnson City, the squad heads to South Carolina for the first Power 4 matchup of the year against Clemson (Nov. 5) before heading back home to host UVA Wise (Nov. 8). 

The Bucs head to the Queen City for a midweek matchup against Elon in Charlotte (Nov. 11) before heading back to Brooks Gymnasium for a meeting with Coastal Carolina (Nov. 15).

After the meeting with the Chanticleers, ETSU heads to face Gardner-Webb (Nov.18) before heading back home to play Kennesaw State at Freedom Hall (Nov. 21). 

The Buccaneers begin a three road game stretch with a trip to UNC Asheville (Nov. 24) before heading to face their second Power 4 opponent of the season in Louisville (Nov. 29). The Bucs face Radford in Virginia (Dec. 2) before heading back to Johnson City to face Morehead State (Dec. 6).

The Bucs' final road trip of the nonconference season takes them to Evansville, Indiana, to take on Southern Indiana (Dec. 13).

The nonconference slate wraps up with a midweek meeting against Charleston Southern (Dec. 16) and a Sunday afternoon meeting against Charlotte (Dec. 20).

ETSU begins SoCon play at home with Tennessee Tech (Dec. 29) and Western Carolina (Jan. 2). The Bucs hit the road for the first time in conference play to Greenville, S.C. to face Furman (Jan. 5).

Samford comes to Johnson City next for a Saturday matchup at Freedom Hall (Jan. 9) as the Bucs host Wofford at Brooks Gym (Jan. 12).

The team hits the road again to face in-state conference opponent Tennessee Tech (Jan. 16) before heading to Western Carolina (Jan. 19). 

Back in the Tri-Cities, the Bucs host Mercer (Jan. 23) and UNC Greensboro (Jan. 26) before heading to face another in-state rival at Chattanooga (Jan. 30) before heading to Birmingham to face Samford (Feb. 6). 

The Buccaneers make a quick trip back home to host Furman (Feb. 9) before heading to Georgia to face Mercer (Feb. 13) and then back to South Carolina for a matchup against Wofford (Feb. 16).

The home slate wraps up with a Saturday game against Chattanooga (Feb. 20) before the regular season is completed on the road at UNC Greensboro (Feb. 23). 

Schedule Notes

  • East Tennessee State is 75-53 all-time against the 2026-27 nonconference schedule and 219-249 against the conference schedule. 
  • The Bucs have the most wins against Western Carolina, 62, and the most meetings against Chattanooga, 100.
  • The Bucs play 15 games at home; 13 at Brooks Gym and two at Freedom Hall. 
  • The 2026-27 schedule includes two Power 4 opponents in Clemson and Louisville. 
  • Tennessee Tech joins the league this season after 75 seasons in the Ohio Valley. The Bucs are 7-21 against the Golden Eagles, meeting just last season in Cookeville.
