Jacolby Criswell Signs Contract with the Calgary Stampeders

Criswell will begin his professional career following one season with the Bucs

CALGARY (May 7, 2026) – Former ETSU quarterback Jacolby Criswell signed a contract with the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League (CFL) earlier this week.

Criswell played in eight games and made four starts for ETSU under center in 2025. In his debut as a Buc, Criswell completed five of eight passes for 34 yards and rushed for 46 more yards in ETSU's win over Murray State. He tossed three touchdowns in road games at West Georgia and Western Carolina. In that game against Western Carolina, Criswell and fellow ETSU quarterback Jackson Byrd combined to throw six touchdowns, which was a new single-game school record. Criswell threw for a season-high 271 yards in that win over the Catamounts as well. His top rushing outing came on the road Furman where he ran the ball 15 times for 73 yards.

Overall, Criswell finished the season 85-for-138 passing (61.59%) for 1,130 yards with nine touchdowns against two interceptions. Despite missing four games, Criswell finished fourth on the team with 277 rushing yards and he averaged 4.9 yards per carry.
