(Feb. 4, 2025) – The ETSU women's tennis team will play its first match in the month of February on Wednesday when it makes the short trip to North Carolina to face off against Appalachian State. ETSU will travel to Boone sporting an 0-3 record so far in 2025. The Bucs have played three power conference teams to open this spring's slate with losses on the road at Kentucky (6-1), Wake Forest (7-0) and Virginia Tech (4-3). Following the close loss at Virginia Tech,
Alessandra Caceres was named the
SoCon Player of the Week on January 28.
App State, meanwhile, enters Wednesday's clash with the Bucs with a 2-1 record on the spring campaign. The Mountaineers won their first two matches of the season over VCU (5-2) and Temple (4-1) but fell in their last match to Furman, 5-2.
Since 2001, the Bucs and Mountaineers have met 16 times with ETSU winning 13 of those matchups. The Blue and Gold have won the last four matches between these two programs with the Mountaineers' last victory coming in 2019.
