Bucs close 2026 among the best programs in the mid-majors and region

TEMPE, Ariz. (June 3, 2026) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association ("ITA") released its Division I Women's Mid-Major Team Rankings as well as the Division I Women's Regional Team, Singles, and Doubles Rankings on Wednesday. The ETSU women's tennis team checked in at No. 23 in the Mid-Major Rankings and No. 4 in the Ohio Valley Regional Team Rankings.

ETSU went 16-8 overall and 6-1 in SoCon play this past season. Four Bucs earned All-SoCon honors and they upset top-seeded Furman in the SoCon Tournament to earn its third NCAA Tournament appearance in the past four years. In that appearance, the Bucs played No. 24 Clemson tough before ultimately falling to the Tigers, 4-1.

In the Ohio Valley Rankings, the Bucs finished behind only three Power Four teams in Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Indiana.

Mid-Major Rankings consist of the Top 25 programs competing outside of the Power Four conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC), while Regional Rankings consist of the Top 10 team rankings, Top 20 singles rankings, and Top 10 doubles rankings from each region.
