Box Score JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - East Tennessee State women's basketball opened the 2025-26 campaign on Monday night in Brooks Gym. The Bucs (0-1, 0-0 SoCon) fell to the Phoenix (1-0, 0-0 CAA) in overtime to open play.
NOTABLES
- Carmen Richardson led the Bucs with a career-high 21 points against the Phoenix. The sophomore guard reached a career-high 19 FGA while tying her career-highs in FGM (7) and FTM (5). Richardson tacked on six rebounds, two assists and two steals in the contest.
- Freshman guard SaBreya Monsanto made her collegiate debut, recording statistics across the board with one field goal, eight rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block.
- Sophomore forward Kennedy Younkin and senior guard Anala Nelson followed Monstanto's defensive efforts with eight total rebounds and one block apiece. Younkin tacked on a career-high eight points, went 2-2 on free throws reached a career-high 36 minutes played and tallied her first career block while Nelson reached six points with two assists.
- Jaidyn Harper boasted a standout performance, with multiple key threes. The sophomore guard reached a career-high 10 points with four rebounds and one assist.
- Yanessa Boyd, the junior guard, went 2-2 on free throws and added one rebound, two assists and one steal for the Bucs.
- Freshman center Lucia France, Boyd, Nelson and Monsanto each start their first career start in the blue and gold in the contest.
- The Bucs totaled 51 points, 45 rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and seven steals.
