SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Feb. 6, 2024) – The Southern Conference announced on Tuesday that ETSU women's tennis player Sofia Markova was named the SoCon's Women's Tennis Player of Month. ETSU has now earned the last four Player of the Month awards dating back to last season.
 
Markova led the way for the Bucs in January. Playing out of the No. 1 singles position, she posted a 2-1 record. She won singles tilts against Kentucky and Virginia Tech. Furthermore, she and her doubles partner Alessandra Caceres notched a win at Clemson on January 13.
 
Markova and the rest of the Buccaneers will be back in action this Saturday when they take on Tennessee. Start time for that match is set for 1 p.m.
