TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Nov. 15, 2024) – Led by senior
Rebekah Howard, the ETSU women's cross country team concluded its 2024 season by competing in the NCAA South Region Championship on Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
Howard, competing in her final collegiate cross country race, finished the 6K course with a time of 21:38.5. Overall, Howard finished in 79th place among a field of 215 runners.
Individually, Florida's Hilda Olemomoi won the race with a time of 19:30.6 as she edged out Alabama's Doris Lemngole by 0.1 of a second.
As a team, ETSU placed 19th among 31 schools. The Bucs finished with 564 points.
Alabama won the team portion with 63 points, while Florida was runner-up with 79 points.
Junior
Camryn Johnson was the second Buccaneer runner to cross the finish line on Friday as she clocked in at 22:15.5 (111th), while
Deena Ludtke – who earned Southern Conference All-Freshman Team honors two weeks ago in Greenville, S.C. – crossed the mark in 22:21.6.
Bonita Gray was right behind in 22:24.2.
