SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Sep. 24, 2025) - ETSU swept the SoCon's Athlete of the Week awards with Jason Bowers and Julia Visgueiro winning the men's and women's honors respectively on Wednesday. 

Bowers won his second weekly award of the season after winning the Hokie Invitational on Friday evening in Blacksburg, Virginia. He posted a time of 22:33.1 on the 7800m men's course. It is the fifth cross country weekly award of Bowers' career. 

Visgueiro, a sophomore from France who competes internationally for Brazil, finished sixth in her first race of the season at the Hokie Invitational with a 21:52.7 on the 5800m women's course. It is her first cross country award. 

Both teams take the weekend off from competition this week before heading to Louisville for the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic on October 4.
