MILL SPRINGS, N.C. (Nov. 1, 2025) - The ETSU women's cross country team finished sixth out of nine teams in the 2025 SoCon Cross Country Championships at the Tryon Equestrian Center on Saturday morning.
Sophie Beach led the Bucs with a season-best 18:11.3 time in the 5k.
Kendall Johnson was next across the line in 26th with an 18:47.9, followed immediately by
Meg Lance with an 18:50.2 and
Camryn Johnson a tenth of a second after Lance.
Grace Singleton rounded out ETSU's points scorers with a 19:44.4, crossing the line 52nd.
Freshmen
Eliza Everett and
Isabella Dentino finished outside the scoring places with respective times of 19:59.2 and 20:14.0 in their first SoCon Cross Country Championship race.
In total, the Bucs finished with 140 points, trailing Samford's 129 and ahead of VMI's 206. Furman won their 13th consecutive team title with 23 points and five of the top nine finishers including Tessa Walter's 17:03.7 dominating the field for first place honors.
ETSU will compete as a team in the NCAA South Regional on November 14th in Huntsville, Alabama. The top two teams and first four regional finishers not from a qualifying team will advance to the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Columbia, Missouri, on November 22.
