TOLEDO, Ohio - Led by Richard Saunders' two-under-par 69, East Tennessee State University men's golf team moved up two spots on the leaderboard with its second round one under 283, Monday, at the Inverness Collegiate at Inverness Club.
East Tennessee State had a 36-hole total of 578. They sit in fourth place, four strokes behind Texas Tech and one stroke ahead of Oklahoma.
Iowa currently leads the tournament with a 36-hole total of 572.
Saunders carded five birdies, four on the front nine alone, to go out in 31 strokes. The sophomore currently sits in a tie for 25th place.
Erik Tjarnberg and Gavin Tiernan both sit in a tie for 12th place. Tjarnberg fired a second-round one-under-70 with four birdies as Tiernan shot a two-over-par 73 in the second round.
Oli Blackadder had an even-par 71 in the second day of play to sit in a tie for 48th place.
Rounding out the Buccaneers' lineup in the second round was Veigar Heidarsson with a six-over-par 75 to sit in a tie for 39th place.
The final round of the Inverness Intercollegiate begins with tee times at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow. The Bucs are paired with Loyola Marymount and Oklahoma.
