WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Apr. 15, 2026) - While most of the ETSU track & field teams are out of competition gearing up for the home stretch in Cullowhee, four Bucs will compete at the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday and Friday in Winston-Salem.

Conner Overly is the lone entry for the men's squad and enters the 800m run. He currently sits fourth in the SoCon with a 1:51.22 best time, less than four seconds off the conference's top mark.

For the women, Meg Lance leads off competition in the 800m run, where she ranks eighth in the SoCon entering this week's competition with a best time of 2:14.79. Deena Ludtke, currently third in SoCon in the 3000m steeplechase at 10:44.52, will enter that event again this week. Ludtke currently ranks 43rd in the NCAA East Region in the 3000m steeple, making her a potential NCAA regional qualifier. Ludtke is the only Buccaneer currently in the top 48 of an event, the cutoff for qualification to an NCAA regional in track & field.

Micailah Cook runs the 400m and 200m sprints on Friday, looking to return to the top of the SoCon leaderboard in both races. Cook currently ranks second in the 200m at 24.29 seconds, six hundredths off the leading time, and is second in the 400m run by two tenths of a second at 55.11. She leads the SoCon in the 100m with an 11.55 best time set at the VertKlasse Meeting earlier this month.

The full squad returns to action next weekend at the Catamount Classic in Cullowhee, the final scheduled event before the 2026 SoCon Outdoor Championships, also in Cullowhee.
