CLEVELAND, Tenn. (Apr. 11, 2026) - The ETSU men's and women's track & field teams wrapped five straight weeks of competition with a solid showing at the Lee Fast Break Invitational in Cleveland, Tennessee, on Friday and Saturday.
Freshman
Milo Willets won the men's 400m hurdles with a personal best time of 55.01 seconds, a personal best that put him a full second clear of the rest of the field in Cleveland. Podium honors for the women were led by
Katelynn Lemke in the 400m hurdles with a personal best 1:03.26 to finish second in the event and post the best time in the SoCon to date in 2026.
Brianna Fulford hit a season best 1.60m in the high jump to finish second, and
Kendall Johnson improved her personal best in the 3000m steeplechase to 11:02.59, taking third in the event and landing fourth on the SoCon season leaderboard.
The women sported a host of other notable finishes, including
Patty Kilkelly's 1:04.57 in the 400m hurdles to come home fifth and
Maddie Winchesters' 38.05m discus throw to finish fifth, both personal bests.
Tyla Nicholson finished fourth in the discus with a 40.27m longest throw, while
Sophia Edwards came home fourth with a 3.47m pole vault, and
Akera Molette set a season best in the high jump at 1.55m.
In addition to her result in the hurdles, Kilkelly set a new personal best with a 100m sprint of 12.67 seconds to finish 11th.
Eliza Everett (11:17.12) and
Camryn Johnson (11:17.69) both set new personal bests in the 3000m steeplechase, coming home seventh and eighth, respectively.
Deena Ludtke ran the 5000m run in a personal best 16:51.66 that put her seventh in Cleveland and sixth in the SoCon on a weekend where six SoCon runners posted times under 17 minutes.
Sophie Beach set a personal best in the 50000m at 17:13.13.
In the throws, Winchester finished sixth in the hammer with a new personal best 44.80m throw that moved her up two spots on the conference leaderboard to sixth, and
Emma Johnson finished ninth with a personal best 41.96m hammer throw. Freshman
Bella Novak scored a season best in the shot put at 10.47m, finishing 13th.
For the men,
Nate Hillis posted the top time in the SoCon this season in the 3000m steeplechase at 9:20.52, finishing eighth in Cleveland and setting a new personal best.
Gavin Deery notched a fourth place finish in the pole vault at 4.47m and set a personal best 1.65m mark in the high jump.
Theo Curling set personal bests in both the 400m sprint (53.57) and the 400m hurdles (58.16), finishing seventh in the latter event.
Hayden Waleski set a pair of PRs in the 800m (1:52.82) and the 1500m (3:54.25), and
Conner Overly came home sixth in the 800m with a 1:51.22 that moved him to fourth on the SoCon leaderboard.
The Bucs are off the road for two weeks before going to Cullowhee, the site of the SoCon Outdoor Championships, for the Catamount Classic April 24 and 25 with a return trip to Cullowhee with SoCon hardware on the line two weeks following.
