SPARTANBURG, S.C. (March 23, 2026) – The Southern Conference (SoCon) announced Monday that ETSU's
Tristan Curless was named the League's Player of the Week. It is the second weekly award that the Bucs have earned this year (
Michael Harpster – Pitcher of the Week - February 23) and is the first in the career of Curless at ETSU.
Curless had a stellar weekend for the Bucs as they went 2-1 at UNC Greensboro in their first SoCon series of the season. As a hitter, Curless hit .615 (8-for-13) with two home runs, seven RBI, and six runs scored in the three-game set. He had multiple hits in all three games, including a pair of three-hit outings on Friday and Sunday. Overall, Curless posted an OPS of 1.821 against UNCG. Curless also contributed on the mound as he tossed two shutout innings to close out ETSU's 15-8 win on Sunday and for his efforts earned his first save in an ETSU uniform.
Curless and the rest of the Bucs will return to action on Tuesday when they welcome Virginia Tech to Thomas Stadium. First pitch for that game is set for 5 p.m. on ESPN+.
