GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 19, 2026) – The ETSU baseball team will open its Southern Conference (SoCon) schedule this weekend with a three-game series on the road at UNC Greensboro. All three games of the series are scheduled to air on ESPN+. The series is set to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Last Time Out – ETSU completed a four-game sweep of Bradley on Sunday with a 15-2 win in seven innings from Thomas Stadium. The Bucs improve to 14-5 on the season with the four victories over the Braves.
Streaking into SoCon Play – The Bucs are hitting conference play at the right time as they are riding a five-game winning streak. With one win over James Madison and four more against Bradley, ETSU has outscored its opponents 65-9 during the streak.
Starting SoCon Play off on a High Note – ETSU earned its first outright SoCon Regular Season Championship last season with a record of 14-7 against SoCon foes. The Bucs won five of the seven series against conference teams a season ago and outscored them 183-93.
Ferguson finding his role –
Henry Ferguson has been one of ETSU's most consistent hitters all season long. Ferguson, who has reached base successfully in all 19 games this spring, paces the Buccaneer hitters in batting average (.420), hits (29), and walks (16) along with being tied for the team-lead with seven stolen bases.
Rotation Settling in – For the third straight weekend, the Bucs are scheduled to start
Tadan Bell,
Michael Harpster, and
Cooper Jones. Bell currently ranks fifth among qualified pitchers in the SoCon in ERA (3.09). Harpster, meanwhile, has tossed at least five innings in four of his starts and boasts a career record of 17-5 as a Buc. Finally, Jones will be making his third start of his collegiate career, and he has yet to allow a run in 12.1 innings.
About UNCG – UNC Greensboro currently sits at 10-12 this season. UNCG has played a tough schedule with eight games coming against teams from either the ACC or SEC. The Spartans have some team speed with 49 stolen bases and 10 triples. The 10 triples are the second-most in Division I baseball trailing only New Mexico State with 12.
Series Rewind vs. UNCG – UNCG has held the historic edge on the Bucs leading the all-time series 42-25. The Spartans are the lone SoCon team over the last two seasons that ETSU has not won a series against. The Bucs will be looking for their first series win in Greensboro since 2021.
