Last Time Out – The Bucs are coming off a series win on the road at UNC Greensboro. ETSU dropped game one by a score of 6-3, but it rebounded to take the final two games by scores of 8-2 and 15-8. With the weekend's results, the Bucs are now 16-6 overall and 2-1 in SoCon play.

Tristan Curless Named SoCon Player of the Week – A big part of the Bucs' success this weekend was the play of Tristan Curless. As a hitter, Curless hit .615 (8-for-13) with two home runs, seven RBI, and six runs scored in the three-game set. He had multiple hits in all three games, including a pair of three-hit outings on Friday and Sunday. Overall, Curless posted an OPS of 1.821 against UNCG. Curless also contributed on the mound as he tossed two shutout innings to close out ETSU's 15-8 win on Sunday and for his efforts earned his first save in an ETSU uniform.

Hits, Hits and more Hits – In addition to the performance this weekend by Curless, the Bucs have also gotten sizeable contributions offensively from Henry Ferguson and Nate Conner this season. Ferguson has reached base successfully in all 22 games this season and is hitting a team-best .400. Conner, meanwhile, has a pair of two-home run games, 10 multi-hit performances, and has reached base successfully in 18 straight games.

Home Field Dominance – 13 of ETSU's 16 wins this season have been at Thomas Stadium. Overall, the Bucs are 13-1 on their home field this spring, which is tied for their best start to a home schedule since 2019 when they also won 13 of their first 14 at home. Furthermore, ETSU has outscored opponents 152-50 at home. As a team, the Bucs are hitting .353 in Johnson City, and the pitching staff has a team ERA of 3.00.

About Virginia Tech – Virginia Tech is currently 12-10 on the season and 4-5 in ACC play. VT, which is just 3-7 in games played away from Blacksburg, boasts a pitching staff that strikes out a lot of batters. The Hokies average 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings, which rank 21st nationally.

Series Rewind against Virginia Tech – Tuesday will be the 63rd all-time game between the Bucs and Hokies. Virginia Tech knocked off the Bucs earlier this season in Blacksburg by a score of 7-5. ETSU will be looking for its first win over VT since 2017, 7-4, in Johnson City.
