Last Time Out – ETSU won the series finale at James Madison on Sunday by a score of 13-0 in eight innings. With the victory, the Bucs improve to 10-5 on the 2026 campaign.
Bucs rank first and second in home runs – While the team hasn't hit as many home runs as it did a season ago, two Buccaneers have flashed early power through the season's first month.
Tristan Curless (seven home runs) and
Nate Conner (six home runs) rank first and second in the conference in home runs, respectively. Overall, Curless and Conner have accounted for 65 percent of ETSU's 20 long balls so far this spring
Zero for the Opponent – ETSU's pitching staff combined to throw its second shutout of the season on Sunday. Only 11 teams in Division I baseball have thrown more shutouts than the Bucs have in 2026.
Cashing in with Two Outs – Sunday's win at James Madison was somewhat unique given the fact that 12 of ETSU's 13 runs scored were with two outs. As a team, the Bucs are hitting .290 with two outs this season with 52 RBI. The 52 RBI account for 43.7 percent of the team's total this season.
Tyler Fetterman has led the charge with nine two-out RBI with Conner, Curless, and
Henry Ferguson not far behind with seven a piece.
Bucs have been terrific at the Thom – The Buccaneers have enjoyed one of the best home field advantages around in recent years. Since the beginning of the 2024 season, the Bucs are a combined 61-14 (.813 winning percentage), including a 9-1 mark in 2026. In home games, ETSU is outscoring opponents 100-41 this season.
About Bradley – Bradley will make its first ever trip to Johnson City this weekend. The Braves are currently 4-12 on the season after dropping a pair of road midweek games at Lindenwood. Bradley is a team that likes to run with 45 stolen bases through 16 games. Hayden Miller, who is also Bradley's top home run hitter with four, paces these efforts going 11-for-11 on stolen base attempts in 2026.
