BLACKSBURG, Va. (Feb. 20, 2026) – Following a successful home stand, the ETSU women's tennis team will head out on the road on Sunday to take on Virginia Tech. First serve between the Buccaneers and Hokies is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The Bucs have rattled off three straight wins over Tusculum (6-0), Murray State (7-0), and Lipscomb (4-3) entering Sunday's clash with the Hokies. Overall, ETSU is 4-2 in 2026 with the only two setbacks coming against ACC foes in NC State and Wake Forest. In singles, the Buccaneers are a combined 20-13 (.606 winning percentage) in singles and 9-5 (.643 winning percentage) in doubles.
Virginia Tech currently has a record of 3-3 this season with wins over Appalachian State, IU Indy, and Navy. The Hokies, who will play No. 23 SMU later this afternoon, have faced ETSU 13 times over the last two decades with VT coming away with the victory in all but one of those contests. ETSU's lone win during this stretch was in 2019 by a score of 4-3.
