Women’s Tennis readies for home opener against Tusculum

Bucs look to return to the win column against the Pioneers

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 22, 2026) – The ETSU women's tennis team will host Tusculum on Friday morning in its first home match of the spring season. The match, which will played inside the mini dome, is set to get underway at 10 a.m.
 
ETSU currently sits at 1-2 on the season after earning a 5-0 victory over Eastern Kentucky. The Bucs' two losses so far this season have come against ACC foes, No. 11 NC State (7-0) and Wake Forest (5-2). With Friday being the team's home opener, the Bucs have won six straight matches played in Johnson City. Its last loss at home came on April 6, 2024, against No. 46 Charlotte, 4-3.
 
Tusculum has not played a match in 2026 yet. In 2025, the Pioneers went 4-14 with their wins coming against Purdue Northwest, UVA Wise, Mars Hill, and Emory & Henry. Friday's match will be the sixth all-time matchup between the Bucs and Pioneers with ETSU winning the previous five matchups.
