Women’s Tennis preps for matches at No. 11 NC State and Wake Forest

Bucs look to build upon their victory over Eastern Kentucky

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 16, 2026) – The ETSU women's tennis team will return to action with two matches at ACC opponents over the next three days. First, the Buccaneers will visit No. 11 NC State on Saturday before heading to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on Wake Forest on Monday. Saturday's match will begin at 11 a.m., while Monday's is set for a Noon first serve.

ETSU started its 2026 season on a high note on Tuesday with a 5-0 victory at Eastern Kentucky. It is the first time that the Bucs are 1-0 since 2023. In their win over the Colonels, the Bucs notched the doubles point thanks to a pair of 6-3 victories. With the 1-0 lead, Julia Millan, Alessandra Caceres, Audelie Lesauvage, and Ksenija Rage all recorded their first singles victories of the spring season to cap the victory for the Blue and Gold.

Saturday will be the season opener for NC State. In 2025, the Wolfpack went 19-7 and reached the NCAA Super Regionals. Furthermore, NC State went undefeated at home last spring going 11-0. The last home loss for the Wolfpack came on April 7, 2024, to Florida State, 5-2.

Like NC State, Wake Forest has not started its 2026 season. However, the Demon Deacons will face off against Tennessee on Saturday before hosting the Bucs on Monday afternoon. Wake Forest finished slightly above the .500 mark a season ago (15-14) and qualified for the NCAA Tournament where it lost to Pepperdine (4-1) in the opening round.

ETSU faced both NC State and Wake Forest last season. The Bucs will be looking for their first-ever victories against both the Wolfpack and Demon Deacons over the coming days.
