Women’s Tennis opens 2026 season at Eastern Kentucky

Bucs look to start 1-0 for first time since 2023

RICHMOND, Ky. (Jan. 12, 2026) – The ETSU women's tennis team will begin its 2026 season on Tuesday morning with a non-conference tilt at Eastern Kentucky. First serve between the Buccaneers and Colonels is set for 10 a.m.

ETSU is coming off a 14-9 overall record (6-1 in SoCon) in 2025. Half of ETSU's six-player roster will be new in 2026. Alessandra Caceres, Julia Millan, and Ksenija Rage all are back for the Blue & Gold, while transfers Audelie Lesauvage and Niyati Kukreti along with freshman Mariangel Estrella are newcomers for ETSU this spring.

Eastern Kentucky compiled a 9-19 overall record last spring, including a 2-7 mark in Atlantic Sun play. EKU has played well on their home court recently as 13 of its 18 victories over the past two seasons have come in Richmond.

Tuesday will be the 19th all-time meeting between ETSU and EKU. The previous 18 matchups are split down the middle with each team boasting nine wins a piece. Tuesday will also be the first match between these two schools since 2014.
