JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 2, 2025) – The ETSU women's tennis team will close out its home schedule this week with a pair of matches against UNC Greensboro on Thursday and Chattanooga on Saturday. The Bucs will face the Spartans at 1 p.m. on Thursday, while Saturday's match against the Mocs is set to get underway at Noon.
 
ETSU improved to 3-0 in SoCon play last week with victories over Wofford (4-3) and Samford (6-1). With those wins, the Bucs have now won 16 consecutive matches against conference opponents dating back to 2023. For her play last week, Daniela Rivera earned SoCon Player of the Week honors on Tuesday. It is her second weekly honor of the 2025 campaign.
 
UNC Greensboro enters Thursday's match in Johnson City with an overall record of 3-14 (0-6 SoCon) this season. The Spartans have dropped their last five matches with their last win coming back on March 9 vs. LIU, 6-1.
 
Chattanooga currently has a record of 10-8 (1-3 SoCon). Most of the Mocs' success in 2025 has come at home with eight of their 10 victories coming in the Scenic City. On the flip side, Chattanooga is just 2-8 in matches played away from their home court.
 
Historically, the Bucs have enjoyed success against both the Spartans and Mocs with a combined series record of 27-7. ETSU has been especially dominant against UNCG as it has won the last 16 matches between the two programs with the Spartans' last win coming in 2003. As for Chattanooga, the Bucs have won nine of the last 10 in the series with Chattanooga's lone win during this stretch coming in 2018.
