ETSU looks to build off strong start at home

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 12, 2025) – East Tennessee State University softball is set for its second home tournament, as the Bucs will welcome North Dakota and Dartmouth to town for the ETSU Invitational from March 13-16.

SoCon Preseason Player of the Year Cameron Young has backed up the early accolade so far. Young is slashing .444/.540/1.066 with six doubles and 13 RBI, both the best marks on the team. Sophomore infielder Makayla Veglia and junior outfielder Taylor Suchy each added a four-hit Sunday to push their averages over .300. 

Freshman pitcher Eden Muncy had an excellent weekend at the Buccaneer Softball Classic, striking out 12 over seven innings pitched while collecting her first collegiate win. Sophomore Gabrielle Fowler continues to lead ETSU in the circle with a 3.03 ERA.
 
North Dakota heads to the ETSU Invitational at 14-11. The Fighting Hawks have four players over 15 RBI, led by Katelyn Neumayer with 19. Camryn Lasota has five home runs, and Katie Jaten is hitting .438. Makaela Carr has a 6-3 record with a 2.71 ERA through 51.2 IP.

Dartmouth enters at 3-7 with just 24 runs scored through its first ten games. Jensin Hall has pitched well for the Big Green, with a 1.39 ERA through 35.1 IP. Alaana Panu has been Dartmouth's best hitter, with a .333 average, three doubles and four RBI.
