Women’s Tennis heads to North Carolina to face Gardner-Webb

Bucs look to get back to the .500 mark on Tuesday against GWU

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (Feb. 17, 2025) – With a 3-1 record in its last four matches, the ETSU women's tennis team will look to continue this stellar run of play on Tuesday when it visits Gardner-Webb. Tuesday's contest between the Buccaneers and Runnin' Bulldogs is set to get underway at 2 p.m.

ETSU enters Tuesday's match with Gardner-Webb with a 3-4 record in 2025. The Bucs have faced several early season tests with five matches against power conference opponents. The Blue and Gold tallied a win over one of those power conference foes on Saturday as it rallied to knock off Minnesota, 4-3. This has been a trend for ETSU this spring as it has battled back from an early deficit in each of its three wins.

Gardner-Webb will be playing just its fourth match of the spring on Tuesday. The Runnin' Bulldogs have won matches against UNC Greensboro (5-2) and Limestone (6-1) so far this season with the lone setback coming on the road at North Carolina, 7-0.

ETSU has never lost to Gardner-Webb as Tuesday will mark the fifth all-time meeting. The last time ETSU faced Gardner-Webb was in 2008. Additionally, the Bucs are 2-0 all-time in matches played in Boiling Springs, N.C.
