BLACKSBURG, Va. (Jan. 25, 2025) – The ETSU women's tennis team will return to action on Sunday when it visits Virginia Tech in non-conference action. First serve between the Buccaneers and Hokies is set for 1 p.m. from Blacksburg.
This will be the third consecutive match for the Bucs against a Power Four opponent to start the spring season. ETSU dropped matches on the road at Kentucky (6-1) and Wake Forest (7-0) earlier this month. Virginia Tech, meanwhile, enters Sunday's match with the Bucs with a 1-1 record so far this season. VT fell in its season opener to Duke, 4-0 but rebounded with a 4-0 victory over North Carolina Central.
Since 2006, the Bucs and Hokies have met 14 times, including seven times in the last eight seasons. ETSU's lone win against Virginia Tech during this time frame was in 2019 when they edged out the Hokies, 4-3.
