LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 24, 2024) – ETSU's
Jason Bowers saw his 2023-24 track and field season come to a close on Friday night at the NCAA East Regional.
Bowers, one of the top 48 runners in the 5000m across the region, finished 28th in the event at Kentucky's Outdoor Track & Field Facility. Bowers turned in a time of 14:18.22.
Furman's Dylan Schubert won the race with a time of 13:50.99, marking a facility record. Princeton's Nicholas Bendtsen took the 12th and final qualifying spot at 13:59.82.
Bowers made his debut in the NCAA Regional on Friday after qualifying with his personal best time of 13:42.68, set back on March 28 at the Raleigh Relays. The time ranked 21st in the region and 45th across all of Division I runners entering the weekend.
Bowers put a stamp on a successful 2023-24 season, which saw him qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championships back in November, while earning silver medals in both the 1500m and 5000m at the SoCon Outdoor Track & Field Championship earlier this month.
