SPARTANBURG, S.C. (May 13, 2024) – The Southern Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday and ETSU's
Cameron Sisneros was tabbed the Conference's Player of the Week. It marks the first weekly award for the Bucs this spring and it marks the second time that Sisneros has earned this honor during his time as a Buccaneer (
May 8, 2023).
Sisneros led the charge for the Buccaneer offense last week. In four games, Sisneros hit .471 with four home runs and 14 RBI. The Littleton, Colorado native tallied at least one hit in all four games and drove in three or more runs in three of the four contests. Sisneros also homered twice on both Saturday and Sunday at Wofford bringing his season home run total to 21. Sisneros, who now has three multi-home run games this season, has now driven in a SoCon-leading 78 runs so far in 2024. His top run-producing game last week came on Saturday when he matched a program single game record with eight RBI in a 15-8 win over the Terriers.
Sisneros is entering exclusive company in terms of offensive production in ETSU baseball history. His 21 home runs are tied for the third-most in a single season in ETSU baseball history with former Bucs Mike Nipper (1983) and Anthony Russell (2008). Additionally, Sisneros and his 78 RBI, which is just six shy of tying the single-season program record of 84 held by Paul Hoilman in 2010.
Sisneros and the rest of the Bucs will return to action for a three-game series at Miami (OH) later this week. The series between the Bucs and Redhawks will begin on Thursday at 4 p.m.
