SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 9, 2024) – ETSU women's tennis player
Fernanda Carvajal was named the Southern Conference's Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. It marks the third time this season that Carvajal has earned this award. Furthermore, it is the eighth weekly award won by a Buc this spring and the fourth straight.
Carvajal, who also earned this honor on Jan. 16 and Feb. 27, went 4-0 last week. She went 2-0 in singles and doubles action against No. 46 Charlotte and Samford. For the season, Carvajal is 13-5 in singles action and 13-3 in doubles.
ETSU, which is 13-7 overall and 6-0 SoCon play, will host Furman on Saturday morning in a match that will determine the No. 1 seed for upcoming SoCon Tournament. First serve between the Bucs and Paladins is set for 11 a.m.
