RALEIGH, N.C. (March 30, 2024) – Highlighted by a pair of Buccaneers setting personal bests, the ETSU men's and women's track and field teams completed competition at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday at the Paul Derry Track & Field Facility.
Hannah Burkhart and
Meg Lance each set personal bests in the 800m with Burkhart clocking in at 2:12.19 and Lance finishing in 2:15.02. Burkhart took two full seconds off her previous time of 2:14.57, set at the 2024 Southern Conference Indoor Championships. Lance's prior PR was 2:15.12, also set at the SoCon meet.
In the men's 800m,
Miguel Parrilla posted a season-best time of 1:50.35, placing him 17th overall in a field of 147 finishers.
On the field,
Diana Romero-Barba registered the second-highest mark in the pole vault as she cleared a season-best attempt of 3.75m. In men's hammer,
Brent Bell registered a heave of 49.61m.
The Bucs are back in action next weekend as a group will head to Cleveland, Tenn. for the Flames Invitational and another group will travel to Knoxville for the Tennessee Invitational.
