SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Feb. 27, 2024) – The Southern Conference announced on Tuesday that ETSU women's tennis player
Fernanda Carvajal was named the SoCon Player of the Week. It marks Carvajal's second weekly award of her career and the fourth this season for ETSU.
Carvajal went 2-0 in both singles and doubles last week as ETSU picked up wins over Appalachian State and Western Carolina. Carvajal and her doubles partner
Daniela Rivera won their two matches by scores of 6-3, 6-4. In singles, Carvajal won a 6-7, 6-0, 10-7 tilt against App State before wrapping up the week with a 6-3, 7-5 win vs. WCU.
Carvajal and the rest of the Bucs will look to keep things rolling with a pair of road matches this week at Radford on Friday and at No. 10 NC State on Sunday.
