Women’s Tennis looks to continue its winning Tuesday vs. Appalachian State

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 19, 2024) – The ETSU women's tennis team will look to continue its winning ways on Tuesday when it hosts Appalachian State in Johnson City. First serve between the Buccaneers and Mountaineers is set for 2 p.m. 
 
ETSU is coming off a pair of victories last week. First, the Bucs shut out UNC Greensboro, 7-0, to begin their SoCon schedule. Following that win, the Buccaneers handed Lipscomb its first loss of the spring with a 4-2 win in Bristol. Thanks to those results, ETSU has won three of its last four matches and is currently 3-4 this spring. 
 
Appalachian State has won three of its five matches so far this season. The Mountaineers have picked up wins over Queens (6-1), Lees-McRae (4-3) and Gardner-Webb (4-3) but suffered losses to Davidson (4-2) and Virginia Tech (5-2). A player to watch for App State is Savannah Dada-Mascoll as she was the Sun Belt Player of the Week on February 14 following a singles win against Virginia Tech. 
 
Tuesday's match will mark the sixth time in the last seven seasons that ETSU and App State have faced off. Overall, the Buccaneers 12-3 all-time against the Mountaineers and they have come away with the victory in 12 of the last 13 matchups. App State will be looking for its first road win against ETSU since March 23, 2002 on Tuesday.
