RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 12, 2024) – The ETSU triathlon team finished third at the East Regional Qualifier on Saturday afternoon. Individually, the Bucs were led by Julia Visgueiro for the fourth consecutive race finishing seventh with a time of 1:00:27.9.

The Blue & Gold finished behind only Queens (638 points) and TCU (620 points) on the day. ETSU wrapped up with a team point total of 566.

Visgueiro logged the lone top 10 finish by a Buc on the day. The freshman from Coubron, France really shined in the biking and running portion on Saturday placing fifth in the field in both segments of the race. Abby Church was ETSU's top swimmer on Saturday with a time of 10:37, which ranked 19th.

Sarah Plant and Emily Coonce also had top 20 finishers on the day with overall times of 1:01:23.7 and 1:01:45.8. Church (26^th – 1:02:27.5), Taylor Walker (27^th – 1:02:37.0), Mia Remorca (29^th – 1:03:14.9) and Delaney Hammill (32^nd – 1:03:28.2) rounded out the finishers on Saturday for the Bucs.

The Bucs will be back in action on November 9 at the Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championship in Clermont, Florida. With the third-place finish in the Regional, the Bucs received an automatic team slot into the "A" wave for the national championship.
