JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - East Tennessee State University women's golf team is set to tee off the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, Sept. 21-23, at Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colorado.
The field consists of New Mexico State, Mercer, Miami, UNC Asheville, Northern Arizona, Ball State, Denver, Kansas, Cal-State Fullerton, Eastern Michigan, Louisiana State, Southern California, Texas A&M, Little Rock, Colorado, Louisiana-Monroe, Pepperdine, Arizona, and UC Irvine.
Arisa Piyamanit is set to tee off first for East Tennessee State, with a 71.60 scoring average this season. Piyamanit was named the Southern Conference's Golfer of the Week, Sept. 9, after she finished in a tie for fifth place at the Golfweek Fall Challenge with a 214 54-hole total. She shot 69 in the first and final round, giving her three rounds in the 60s this season.
Sophia Gambini is second off the tee with a 72.40 scoring average in two tournaments played. She placed 10th at the Golfweek Fall Challenge and had a low round of 71.
Elzbieta Aldana Leonardo is up next with a 75.20 average through two tournaments played. She finished in 51st place at the Golfweek Fall Challenge and had a low round of 70 in the first round.
Fourth off the tee is
Aliezah Robinson after finishing in a tie for 85th place at the Golfweek Fall Challenge. The freshman carded a low round of 70 in the tournament in the first round.
Rounding out the Bucs' lineup is
McKenzie Hauk with a 74.80 scoring average on the season. Hauk finished in 57th place in her last outing, with a low round of 70 on the first day.
Francisca Moritz will compete as an individual, averaging 74.80 strokes per round.
The Golfweek Red Sky Classic begins tomorrow with tee times starting at 10 a.m. The Buccaneers are paired with Arizona, Colorado, and Little Rock.
