CLEMSON, S.C. (Aug. 22, 2026) - The ETSU men's soccer team heads to Clemson on Sunday for a primetime clash with the Tigers. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm at Riggs Field.

The Bucs are coming off their first road win since Oct. 19, 2024, with a 1-0 victory at Queens on Thursday in Charlotte. Frank Manrod got his head on the receiving end of an Eliot Edwards corner kick to separate the two teams and end a seven-game road winless streak for ETSU. Goalkeeper Noé Delmotte stopped four shots for his first shutout as a Buccaneer. 

The Tigers were picked fifth in the ACC preseason poll and made a statement on Thursday with a 5-1 thrashing of No. 3 Furman at Riggs Field. The Tigers sport a preseason MAC Hermann Trophy contender in junior midfielder Ransford Gyan. The 2025 ACC Midfielder of the Year and United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American scored Clemson's final goal of their rout of the Paladins in the 68th minute. 

This is the fourth meeting between ETSU and Clemson in men's soccer, and the first since 2015. Both teams have a win in the series and played to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 24, 2011. The Bucs got the better of the Tigers on Sept. 6, 2010, when captain Guilherme Reis scored the double-overtime winner in a 1-0 ETSU victory.
