CHARLESTON, S.C. (April 8, 2026) – The No. 61 ETSU men's tennis team earned its 19
th consecutive win on Wednesday as it knocked off The Citadel by a score of 6-1. With the victory over the Bulldogs, the Bucs clinched the Southern Conference (SoCon) Regular Season Championship. It is the fourth time since 2021 that the Bucs have won the league title outright.
The Bucs swept through doubles by scores of 6-2, 6-3, 6-0. After jumping out to a 1-0 lead, the Bucs kept things rolling in singles winning five of the six matches all in two sets. The 6-4, 6-4 win by
Oscar Martinez clinched the match and the conference crown for the Bucs. That victory boosts Martinez's singles record to 18-1 this spring.
With conference play officially wrapped up for the Bucs, ETSU finishes league action with an overall record of 35-7 in singles and 15-5 in doubles against SoCon competition.

ETSU will have a little over a week to prepare for the SoCon Men's Tennis Tournament. The tournament will take place at the Champions Club in Chattanooga with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Bucs, who will be the No. 1 seed, will begin the event with a match against the No. 8 seed at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 16.
