Last Time Out – The Bucs improved to 19-3 at home with Tuesday's 10-7 victory over UNC Asheville. The win, which was ETSU's 15th in the last 16 matchups against the Bulldogs, boosts ETSU's overall record to 27-15 this season.

More Miles for the Bucs this Weekend – After playing 12 of its 16 games in April away from Johnson City, the Bucs will add more miles for their first series in the month of May with their trip to UConn. This will be the first time that the Bucs and Huskies have met in baseball. Furthermore, it'll be ETSU's longest road trip in terms of miles (769 miles) since 2023, when it played three games at Oklahoma State (966 miles).

Palmese Providing a Punch – Connecticut native Jamie Palmese returns to his home state this weekend as one of ETSU's hottest hitters. He has batted solely from the cleanup spot in the last month. During that time, Palmese is hitting .353 (24-for-68). Of those 24 hits, 14 have been for extra bases (11 doubles, two triples, two home runs). He has recorded 22 RBI and scored 13 more runs. Palmese has also started 108 straight games in center field for ETSU since his freshman season in 2024.

Harpster moving up ETSU's career wins list – After another stellar outing last Friday at Western Carolina, Michael Harpster collected his 21st career win in an ETSU uniform. Harpster, who is 6-1 this season, is just the fifth Buccaneer pitcher to earn that many victories with the program, joining Jeff Andrews (34 wins), Jeremy Hall (24 wins), Matt Baber (22 wins), and Nathanial Tate (21 wins).

More Success in May – As the calendar turns to May, the Bucs hope to enjoy similar success as they did last May. ETSU went 10-5 in the final month of the season in 2025, won the SoCon Regular Season and Tournament Championships, and made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013 and fifth overall.

About UConn – The Huskies come into the weekend playing some of their best baseball of the season with six straight wins. UConn, which is 26-20 this season, is a well-balanced squad, leading the Big East in both team batting average (.285) and team ERA (4.46). Offensively, Jackson Marshall leads the Huskies in all three triple crown categories with a .372 batting average, 12 home runs, and 45 RBI. On the mound, the trio of Charlie West, Cayden Suchy, and Oliver Pudvar has all started 11 games for UConn this season, and each pitcher has an ERA under 3.80.
