JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 2, 2026) – The No. 60 ETSU men's tennis team capped off its home schedule with a 7-0 shutout win over Chattanooga on Thursday afternoon. The victory, which is ETSU's 17
th in a row, boosts the Bucs' overall record to 17-3 and 5-0 in SoCon play.
ETSU was in control of the match from the start to finish on Thursday. The Buccaneers swept the three doubles matches by scores of 6-3, 6-1 and 6-4. It is the 13
th time in 20 matches this season that ETSU has won the doubles point.
The Bucs continued to roll in singles.
Carlos Gonzales got the ball rolling with a 6-1, 6-0 win before seniors
Peter Kalocsai and
Martin Vergara locked up the win for the Bucs with victories in their respective matches. After the match was clinched,
Arenui Luethi,
Kai Cowcher, and
Oscar Martinez all added to their season win total later on in the contest.
