SPARTANBURG, S.C. (March 30, 2026) – The Southern Conference (SoCon) announced Monday that ETSU's
Michael Harpster was named the League's Pitcher of the Week. It marks the second time this season that Harpster has taken home this honor and it is the third weekly honor accolade that a Buccaneer has earned from the conference this season (
Tristan Curless – Player of the Week on March 23).
Harpster turned in his best start of the season on Saturday against VMI. The Lynchburg, Virginia native threw a season-high seven inning innings and allowed one run (not earned) on three hits and a walk. Harpster also struck out seven Keydet hitters in the win. The victory was Harpster's fourth of the season to boost his record to 4-1.
Harpster and the rest of the Bucs will hit the road this week for a three-game series at Samford. The three-game set, which is slated to run from Thursday through Saturday, is scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m. eastern time on Thursday.
