No. 67 ETSU downs Florida Gulf Coast, 6-1, for 13th straight win

ETSU has its longest winning streak since 2016

FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 17, 2026) – The No. 67 ETSU men's tennis team notched its 13th win in a row on Tuesday as it downed Florida Gulf Coast by a score of 6-1. Tuesday's win over the Eagles boosts ETSU's record to 13-3 on the 2026 campaign.
 
The Buccaneers won the lone doubles match that was played until completion on Tuesday as Oscar Martinez and Martin Vergara came away with the 6-3 win. As for singles action, Martinez tallied a 7-5, 6-4 win in the No. 1 flight, while Kai Cowcher (6-7 (2-7), 6-1, 1-0 (10-6) and Carlos Gonzales (6-1, 6-1) both earned wins in their matches. ETSU won two singles contests, and one doubles match by forfeit against FGCU.

ETSU will close out its trip to Florida on Wednesday with its final non-conference match of the regular season at FAU. First serve between the Bucs and Owls is scheduled for 5 p.m.
