No. 68 ETSU collects its 12th victory in a row with a 6-1 win over Mercer

Bucs continue to roll as it improves to 2-0 in SoCon play

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 13, 2026) – The No. 68 ETSU men's tennis team extended its winning streak to 12 on Friday with a 6-1 win over Mercer. Friday's victory improves ETSU's overall record to 12-3 this season and 2-0 in SoCon play.
 
The Buccaneers won two of the three doubles matches against the Bears. Juan Listo and James Sim won their matchup 6-2, while Oscar Martinez and Martin Vergara clinched the point for ETSU with a 7-5 win. Listo and Sim have won a team-high nine doubles matches this spring.
 
While ETSU won five of the six singles matches, all six were competitive. After Arenui Luethi and Carlos Gonzales made the score 3-0 Bucs, the other four tilts were extended to extra points or to three sets. Kai Cowcher, Peter Kalocsai, and Martinez all secured singles wins for the Bucs on the day.

ETSU will head out on a spring break trip to Florida next week. The Bucs will face Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday before traveling to take on FAU on Wednesday. Tuesday's match against the Eagles is set for 10 a.m.
