JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 25, 2026) – Another day, another win for the ETSU men's tennis team as the Buccaneers shut out UNC Asheville on Wednesday by a score 7-0 at the ETSU mini dome. The victory, which is ETSU's eighth in a row, improves ETSU's record to 8-3 in 2026.
ETSU earned doubles victories by scores of 6-0 and 7-5 to take the first point of Wednesday's match. The Bucs were also in position to win the third tilt, but the match was stopped with the ETSU duo up 6-5.
Moving onto singles action, the Bucs won all six matchups with five of them coming in two sets.
Oscar Martinez continues his undefeated singles record this spring (8-0) with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Jip Mens.
Kai Cowcher,
Carlos Gonzales, and
Martin Vergara also collected wins against the Bulldogs and in doing so grow their respective winning streaks to three matches or more in singles.
