CULLOWHEE, N.C. - East Tennessee State women's basketball (8-11, 1-3 SoCon) collects it's first Southern Conference win in the 2025-26 campaign with a 62-50 victory over Western Carolina (3-16, 0-5 SoCon).
NOTABLES
- Meghan Downing, the senior guard, was the leading scorer for the Bucs with her 17 points, tacking on six rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks after going 7-11 from the field and 3-5 from the line. Downing extends her block-streak to 36 consecutive appearances.
- Junior guard Daniela Lopez was the next top offensive product for the squad with her 10 points, going 5-9 from the field with three rebounds, two assists and one steal.
- Six of eight scoring members of the squad reached five or more points in the contest, the most evenly spread offensive contest of the 2025-26 season thus far.
- Carmen Richardson, the sophomore guard, boasted team- and game-highs in assists (3) and steals (5) with seven points and six rebounds.
- Six of eight individuals to record a rebound reached three or more.
- Graduate guard Anala Nelson was a consistent contributor with nine points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal.
- ETSU recorded just 11 turnovers, the second lowest number in a single game thus far in the season.
- The team totaled 62 points, 36 rebounds, nine assists, nine steals and two blocks.
