Women's basketball falls to Chattanooga

Anala Nelson leading scorer versus the conference foe

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - East Tennessee State women's basketball (7-11, 0-3 SoCon) fell to Chattanooga (11-5, 3-0 SoCon) on Saturday night in Brooks Gym, 41-53.

NOTABLES
  • Daniela Lopez, the junior guard, tied her career-high in rebounds with her team-high of nine.  Lopez tacked on three points and the team-high of two assists.
  • Senior forward Meghan Downing was an offensive and defensive leader with eight points, seven rebounds, three blocks and two assists.
  • Anala Nelson, the graduate guard was the leading scorer with her 11 points, tacking on two steals, one assist and three rebounds.
  • Nine of the ten members of the squad that saw action recorded one or more points with seven of ten collecting one or more rebound.
  • Freshman guard Emmah McAmis tied her career-high of six rebounds versus the Mocs.
  • The Bucs recorded their second longest scoring run of the season in the first quarter with 15 points.
  • ETSU collected 11 points from turnovers, 18 points in the paint, six points from second chances and 13 points from the bench.
  • The team totaled 41 points, 38 rebounds, eight assists, five steals and three blocks.

ETSU enters the road slate of conference competition with a weekend at Western Carolina (Jan. 22) and UNC Greensboro (Jan. 24).
