JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Volleyball head coach
Lindsey Devine announced the addition of transfer outside hitter Elizabeth Aylward, on Thursday afternoon. Aylward joins East Tennessee State after three seasons at Virginia Tech.
Elizabeth Aylward, a senior outside hitter, accumulated 119 kills, 192 digs, 20 aces, 25 total blocks and 20 assists through her three-year career as a Hokie. The Nashville, Tenn. native was a member of the 2024 All-ACC Academic Team and saw action in 47 matches in the maroon and orange.
Prior to Virginia Tech, Aylward was a two-time AVCA Phenom selection and recorded 1,000+ career kills at Harpeth Hall, as well as earning a spot on the All-Region Team all four years of her career, and making the All-Tournament Team each year of her career. Aylward helped her team to a 2019 District Championship and was also named the All-Region MVP as a junior and senior, while also serving as captain.
Elizabeth is the daughter of Laura Aylward and has two siblings, Mary Catherine and Richard, and plans to continue her degree in psychology with the hopes of becoming a counselor or athletic director.
