The Bucs are still searching for their first win of 2025 after Radford scored twice in the second half to salvage a 2-2 draw last Wednesday at Summers-Taylor.
Jaime Carrillo is the Bucs only multi-goal scorer this season after bagging a brace against the Highlanders, the first two-goal game for a Buccaneer since October 15 of last year.
Berkay Duman had a pair of assists in the game as well, and midfielder
Gabriel Betancourt recorded his first collegiate point with an assist on Carrillo's first goal.
The Bulldogs' new head coach, Danny Frid, has them off to their best start in 30 years after a 2-0 win at Wofford on last Tuesday. Freshman Arnor Hardarson has had the magic touch with three goals in his last two games, including the 39th minute breakthrough against the Terriers. Rodrigo Mendes has four goals of his own, punctuated by a hat trick in a 3-1 win over Georgia State on August 26.
This is just the seventh meeting between the Bucs and the Bulldogs in men's soccer, but it is the fourth consecutive year the two teams have squared off. ETSU leads the series 3-2-1. Last year's game ended in a 1-1 draw in Asheville, and the Bulldogs won the last game in Johnson City 2-0 on September 19, 2023.
