JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - East Tennessee State women's volleyball hosted Western Kentucky on Friday evening for the third match of the Buccaneer Classic hosted by Tri-Cities Airports. The Bucs (3-5, 0-0 SoCon) fell to the Tops (5-2, 0-0 CUSA) in three sets (21-25, 20-25, 14-25).
NOTABLES
- Whitley Rammel led the offense and defense for the second consecutive match, boasting the team-highs of 12 kills and three total blocks. The senior middle blocker led the match in hitting percentage with a .500 clip (12 K, 1 E, 22 TA) for her best offensive production of the season.
- Makayla Bays, the sophomore outside hitter, also collected 12 kills, growing her double-digit appearances to five of eight matches. Bays has led the offense in seven of eight matches in the 2025 campaign. She also tacked on six kills with an ace with 10 perfect receptions.
- Freshman outside hitter Sophie Davis boasted three aces in the match, with all three falling consecutively to lead off the first set, setting a new career-high.
- Alex Kreutmann, the junior setter, tallied 14 assists for the team-high in the contest, adding three digs to the night.
- The Bucs totaled 33 kills, 32 assists, seven aces, 32 digs and five total blocks.
